Complete Description
Perform timely and accurate technical duties in the operation of complex computer systems. Responding to, diagnosing and resolving personal computer, workstation and application-related issues.
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming or closely-related field, or a Technical certificate in similar field, from a recognized college or university required. Progressive professional work experience in a similar field may replace the educational requirement. Two years of computer operations or technical help desk experience in a distributed computing environment preferred. Knowledge of the basic principles, concepts, and methods of information processing, distributed operating systems, system utilities, and technical methodologies used in computer operations. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications as required. Understanding of peripheral equipment used in distributed information processing, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description:
Our Client is a large Investment Trading Firm.
Interview Process: Phone screen and then face to face with hiring team. If invited for an in person interview, the candidate will be required to come in twice to meet with day and night teams. The hiring decision is made collectively by the Manager and team.

Project Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Global Operations, the Computer Operator will work as part of a multi-shift environment, supporting 7×24x365 Global Operations. The successful candidate is one who can work independently, on any night shift, performing all the duties of a Computer Operator including monitoring nightly batch cycle via Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS), monitoring systems, performing backups and restores of files and files systems on Solaris and Windows operating systems. It is critical for the candidate to be a self learner and be able to work based on learning from our client’s documentation.
